AA 24 Hour Helpline - By telephoning Harare (04) -776760 or (04) 2931378 &
2932089 , members will receive 24 hours Emergency Roadside assistance, managed from start to finish by the Helpline Operator.

A A Plus Membership - Provides additional motoring peace of mind over and above ordinary membership. These enhanced benefits cover Breakdown Service, Emergency hotel Expenses, Road Rescue and Technical Services.


B

Breakdown Service - The Members' handbook publishes a list of Breakdown Service Providers who provide a 24 hour breakdown recovery service after hours. Claims must be submitted within three months of the breakdown. AA Plus members enjoy a breakdown refund of double the normal rate and extrication from mud, ditches etc.

Badges - An attractive windscreen badge is available for members free of charge.


C

Carnets - This document permits the temporary entry of a vehicle into a country without the need to lodge a customs deposit at the border. The Association does not issue carnets for entry into South Africa

Discounts - Members of the AAZ can enjoy discounts from several hotels, and companies in Zimbabwe. Details are available at Branch Offices.

Driving School - Situated at the Matabeleland Branch Office in Bulawayo, the AAZ Driving School is currently operating with three vehicles, all adorned in our very own distinctive AAZ livery.
The school offers quality training to learner drivers, using well experienced and qualified Instructors, at competitive tuition rates. Lessons are available to both AAZ members, their families and the public at large. Learners will have the assurance that the school will offer a professional service which meets the exacting standards set by respected institutions including Automobile Associations worldwide. At the same time we hope to assist in upgrading the skills, habits and attitudes of drivers' behaviour in our new generation of motorists.


E

Emergency Hotel Expenses - Members experiencing a vehicle breakdown in Zimbabwe necessitating an overnight stay at an hotel can claim a refund, not only on the towing charges under the existing breakdown scheme but, within certain limits, all or part of the hotel costs as well.


F Foreign travel information - Foreign Travel Information can be obtained from the AAZ Head of Touring Office (Head Office). The following info (and much more) is available for most countries in the world: Personal Documents, Health Regulations, Currency details (exchange rate, travellers cheques), Import of Animals, Customs Posts (location, hrs of business), Vehicle Insurance, Driver licence requirements, Customs Regulations, Accommodation (camping, caravan, hotels, and other).


G Gift Vouchers - By introducing a new member who pays a full subscription and entrance fee, members can claim a number of vouchers on the Gift Voucher Scheme.


H

Handbook - Issued on enrolment, this shows how to obtain maximum value from membership.

HP Enquiries - For a small fee the Association can find out if a vehicle is the subject of hire-purchase agreement with finance houses, which register their agreements. However, not all firms giving h.p. facilities participate and therefore no guarantee can be given.


I

Insurance - Insurance is another exclusive benefit offered where the special rates and conditions available to AAZ members represent, in terms of the Association's annual subscription, saving the equivalent of many years' free membership.

IDPs - These may be purchased from AAZ offices after completion of an application form and on production of a valid Zimbabwe driver's licence and two passport sized photographs .


JJoint Family Membership - Spouse of paid-up members may join by paying only the annual subscription provided husband and wife have the same renewal date. Sons and daughters of the member will be exempted from paying an entrance fee if they are under the age of 25 at the time of applying for membership
KKey Return Service - A wallet can be purchased which incorporates a numbered disc enabling lost keys to be speedily returned to their owner.

Legal Service -- members may arrange to obtain free legal advice, within certain limits, on motoring problems, from attorneys of their own choice, or by applying to their AAZ Branch Office. Financial assistance may be obtained by members towards their defence in a Magistrate's Court on a wide range of motoring charges.


M

Maps - Touring maps are available to members for a nominal fee. These include tour planning maps of resort areas and the region.

Members' Magazine - It contains articles on motoring, technical information, changes in motoring laws and taxation, and keeps the information given in the handbook up-to-date


NNationality Plaques - All motor vehicles circulating outside the country in which they are registered are required by international law to display the national identification letters of the country of registration. These adhesive plastic plates for Zimbabwe or Malawi are available at Branch Offices.
O Offices in Towns - AAZ is represented by Consuls in: Beitbridge, Chiredzi, Masvingo, Kadoma, Kariba, Marondera, Rusape, Chinhoyi and Harare (Borrowdale & Seke Road).

Parking Disks - Initially in Harare, but ultimately in other major cities, the AAZ can now issue parking tokens to its members and, what's more, at a discount

Road Rescue Service -The AAZ Road Rescue service operates in areas where they can be employed to assist maximum number of member within a 50 km radius of the centres of Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru and Harare (24 Hours) AA Plus members enjoy Home Start and/or Free tow (from Home) to a garage of the member's choice.


S Service Providers - The AAZ has exclusive Service Provider contracts with specially selected and reputable breakdown firms throughout the country to give priority 24 hour service to AAZ members. Contractors' vehicle are identified by the
AAZ Service Provider Logo on the side of each vehicle.


T

Technical Service - The AAZ's Technical Department has qualified staff who will inspect the vehicle giving it a comprehensive check, road test and written report on its condition. Technical staff will also provide free technical advice and assistance in garage disputes - the latter, not only saving considerable stress, but on occasions financial savings too.

Touring Service - By reciprocal arrangements with motoring and touring organisations worldwide, AAZ members can obtain the latest information and assistance on touring.


U Unlocking Service -Members who inadvertently lock their vehicle with keys inside may obtain the service of a locksmith to open the vehicle and, within certain limits, claim a refund from the AAZ for the locksmith's charges.


V

Veteran Membership - Veteran membership decals, showing continuous membership of the AAZ and some associated clubs of 10 years or more, are obtainable from Branch Offices free of charge.
